Our client’s mission for the project is to improve quality of life through neighborhood revitalization, affordable housing and integrated social services. In concert with our client and the residents of Glenville, the Placemaking Studio planners and designers captured their collective vision and translated it into a transit-oriented development (TOD) plan for the Glenville Circle North community.
The goals involved identifying the strengths of the neighborhood that could be leveraged, and issues to be addressed in order to create a true mixed-use, mixed-income TOD neighborhood. Urban planning and design principles were applied to the graphics and branding to create a human-scaled environment designed to encourage multiple modes of transportation with walkability as its foundation.
The plan’s vision for the future of Circle North successfully delivers a compelling mixed-use, mixed-income, transit-oriented neighborhood that is viable in 21st century Cleveland.
